Russound's New CA4 Multizone Controller Amplifier Kit

Multi-room audio purveyor Russound is bringing out the CA4 amplifier, so named because many of its attributes come in quantities of four: there are four sources and four zone controllers, four CA4 keypads and many other assets, all for $1,100.

Russound, a provider of multiroom audio, today announced a new four-source/four-zone controller amplifier that offers an array of features.

The CA4 kit, with a MAP of $1100, includes a CA4 Controller Amplifier, four CA4-KP keypads, a system remote control and wall port. The kit features digital amplification, a slim chassis design, and unique wall port for clean installation and wire management. Other functions include separate bass and treble controls for each of the four zones, source grouping, which unifies zones based on user preferences, and a special "party mode" that temporarily designates a single keypad as a master control for all other keypads throughout the home.

"The CA4 is the perfect bridge between value-driven multiroom audio systems and more
advanced options," said Andy Lewis, Director of Product Development. "Its remarkably
affordable price belies advanced digital technology and a feature set that is typically seen with systems costing significantly more."

CA4 Controller Amplifier

In designing the CA4, Russound set out to create a system with simple and intuitive installation requirements. For example, all structured wiring is terminated at a wall port, which in turn is connected to the controller via four CAT-5 patch cables. With this design, installation has no termination plates on the wall.

The CA4's design allow for the system to be pre-wired and tested in a newly constructed house while the controller is installed at a later date. In this case, final installation consists of plugging in the controller and source equipment. No additional programming is required.

Russound's CA4 Controller is a 1U chassis and measures 16.9" W x 8.75" D x 2" H for placement in a home entertainment center or equipment rack.

"At a time when dealers and installers are looking for ways to build business, the CA4 kit sets a new standard for value-driven controller options," added Lewis. "It's never been easier for end users to enjoy some of the best features of the multiroom experience without breaking the bank."
