Off the success of its predecessor, Samsung has announced the Freestyle Gen 2, the follow up to the company’s popular Freestyle Gen 1 projector. Promising to increase performance and provide more options for gamers while maintaining its compact form factor, the Freestyle Gen 2 is available for pre-order now at a price tag of $799.99.
A key change that the Freestyle Gen 2 has implemented is expanding the horizons for gamers. Utilizing cloud gaming and Samsung Gaming Hub support, the supported library of games has increased to nearly 3000. This allows users to play the top games from Xbox and other streaming partners with no console required.
Other gaming partners include Nvidia GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Utomik, and the recent additions of Antsream Arcade and Blacknut. The goal is convenience of use, and the simple set up reflects that. Users will be able to dive right into their favorite shows and games after syncing up a Bluetooth controller and a streamlined first time setup.
The Freestyle Gen 2 gives users flexibility when it comes to streaming. Its built-in Tizen OS supports a wide array of built-in services and apps, including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, and more. Users are also given access to free TV with Samsung TV Plus, providing 250 live channels and thousands of shows on demand.
Much like its predecessor, the Freestyle Gen 2 maintains a compact and portable design, while still being able to produce strong performance. For on the go use, you can even purchase a separate Battery Base for use with no outlet required.
The Freestyle Gen 2 optimizes content for Full High-Definition viewing at 1920x1080 resolution that can be projected from floor to ceiling with its cradle stand. With a screen size 30 to 100 inches3, the Freestyle Gen 2 is designed to be projected anywhere the user pleases.
The image quality of the Freestyle Gen 2 is ensured by Auto Keystone and Auto Focus features, allowing for vivid colors and sharp details to shine through. That, coupled with the Freestyle Gen 2’s 360-degree audio, promises an immersive and flexible viewing experience.
