Samsung has introduced a unique fusion of technology and art with its latest products unveiled at CES 2024. Among these new offerings are the Samsung Music Frame, a speaker that doubles as a picture frame, and an array of soundbars aimed at enhancing the audio experience for consumers.
One of the most intriguing products from Samsung's CES 2024 lineup is undoubtedly the Samsung Music Frame. This device takes inspiration from Samsung's The Frame TVs, which display artwork when not in use. The Frame goes a step further by delivering audio discreetly while allowing users to showcase their favorite prints.
The Music Frame features a 12.9 x 12.9 x 1.7-inch frame that can hold prints up to 8 x 8 inches in size. It also comes with an Art Panel, a diasec matte acrylic plate, which can be personalized with your favorite artwork or photographs. This new product combines visual aesthetics with audio prowess.
Equipped with four front-firing drivers, including two tweeters and two mid-range drivers, as well as back-firing woofers, the Music Frame delivers a Dolby Atmos-enabled audio experience. It can operate as a standalone Bluetooth or Wi-Fi speaker, making it versatile for various audio needs. Additionally, it serves as an IoT hub, seamlessly integrating with Samsung SmartThings.
One of its main features is its compatibility with Samsung's Q-Symphony, which synchronizes its audio drivers with those on Samsung soundbars and TVs. This enables users to create immersive soundscapes in their homes, enhancing the overall entertainment experience. Whether paired with a TV or used as a subwoofer, the Music Frame is a unique addition to any home audio setup.
The Music Frame also incorporates Samsung's SpaceFit Sound technology, which adapts audio in real-time based on the room's acoustics. This should ensure an optimal listening experience, regardless of where the Frame is placed within a room.
Alongside the Music Frame, Samsung unveiled an array of soundbars, including the flagship HW-Q990D, which builds on the success of its predecessor, the HW-Q990C. With an impressive 11.1.4-channel configuration and support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the Q990D is poised to deliver a captivating audio experience.
A noteworthy addition to the Q990D is 120Hz 4K video passthrough, which caters to gamers seeking smooth gaming visuals. The soundbar also introduces a "Private Listening Mode," allowing users to restrict audio to rear speakers for late-night viewing, as well as a "Party Play Mode" that enhances sound distribution for social gatherings.
Furthermore, the Q990D is now compatible with Roon, a music server software catering to audiophiles, enhancing its appeal to serious music enthusiasts.
Samsung's "ultra slim" soundbars have also received updates. The HW-S800D, measuring 46 inches wide, now boasts an HDMI-eARC interface, providing support for lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio signals from Blu-ray players. The smaller HW-S700D, with its sleek 35-inch-wide chassis, continues to offer a minimalist form factor for space-conscious consumers.
While specific release dates and pricing remain undisclosed, these products are expected to make waves in the audio and home entertainment market in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates from CES 2024.
