SANUS Addresses Dangers Of HDTVs

sanus.jpgSANUS and celebrity designer (and HGTV host) Genevieve Gorder are working together to prevent TV-related accidents. Unsecured flat panel TVs have a history of tipping over and injuring their owners, or their children. SANUS has created a Premium line of television mounts with integrated safety features and less hardware necesary to install them, making set-up and use safer than ever. Gorder will advise consumers on how to use their space most effectively in the "Spaces" blog on the SANUS site.

SANUS, the leading global brand of audio/video mounts, furnishings and consumer electronics accessories and the best-selling TV wall mount brand in the US, is continuing its mission to educate consumers about the risk of TV tip-overs through a partnership with HGTV host and celebrity interior designer, Genevieve Gorder. Gorder will work with SANUS to raise awareness about TV tip overs. Keeping safety in mind, Gorder will also tout the benefits of mounting your TV as it pertains to space, style, and how it can instantly add a modern look and feel to any room.

"Design is my passion, but as a mother, safety comes first," says Gorder. "Collaborating with a brand whose mission is at the forefront of safety is such an honor. I am delighted to have the opportunity to educate caregivers across the nation and communicate the importance of a safe, yet stylish home."

Unsecured flat panel TVs can pose a great risk to consumers, especially to young children. Due to increasing size and new ultra-thin designs, flat panel TVs can easily tip when bumped or pulled, causing them to topple off furniture, potentially causing injury or even death. As reported by the American Academy of Pediatrics study, more than 17,000 children - one every 30 minutes - are treated in emergency rooms across the country for TV related injuries each year.

"Above all, SANUS is committed to the safety of our customers," says Steve Decker, president of consumer products for SANUS. "We are thrilled to be working with Genevieve to increase momentum of the message to secure all TVs. She understands the importance of safety, and we look forward to her insight as it pertains to décor. We are creating the total solution to enable consumers to transform their living space and Genevieve will help lend a design eye to consumers looking for advice. Together, we are the ultimate home safety and design team."

SANUS has created new mounts and accessories to help consumers reinvent their space while securing the TV in any room: living room, bedroom, guest room, office or kitchen with beauty, simplicity and ease of installation, top of mind. Designed with integrated safety features built-in, SANUS created the Premium line of TV wall mounts to elevate the installation process for consumers and add a high-end aesthetic design and vastly reduced hardware, enabling safer installation and consumer confidence. To aid in the installation process from start to finish, SANUS is also now shipping a new AV accessory line to give consumers the finishing touches needed for their media display. Gorder will offer solutions and recommendations for how to reinvent spaces with her own contributed content for the new SANUS "Spaces" Blog coming in February.
