Savant Systems, an Apple-based home automation control system, recently announced two new Touch TV products, which are HD displays that also function as a control interface for Savant systems.
The 18.5-inch TTV-2018 and the 24-inch TTV-2024 grant access to control and automation services by tapping the screen, which also include subsystems for multizone audio and video, lighting, climate, security systems, and network cameras. The key element of this control is that it does not interrupt the HD video being viewed on the screen.

The screens are a high-resolution widescreen TFT LCD display which feature GestureTouch navigation, meaning that using the screen is similar to using an iPhone or iPod Touch. The screens are designed for on-wall installation but also come with an optional stand so they can used on tabletops as well.
The TTV-2018 will have an MSRP of $8,500 and the TTV-2024 will have an MSRP of $10,000. Both will be available in October 2010.
