Shokz has launched two new products aimed at improving the audio experience for active users: the OpenFit Air and the OpenSwim Pro. These additions build on Shokz's innovative open-ear technology, offering unique features tailored for different environments and activities.
The OpenSwim Pro is an evolution of the original OpenSwim, now incorporating Bluetooth functionality alongside its bone-conduction technology. This update addresses a significant limitation of its predecessor, which only allowed users to listen to audio files loaded via a computer. With Bluetooth, users can now enjoy streaming music and podcasts once they are out of the water, enhancing the versatility of the headphones.
Vincent Xiong, Chief Executive Officer at Shokz said: “We know that swimmers love our existing OpenSwim headphones, but our most requested feature was the ability to utilize Bluetooth out of the water as well.
We’re incredibly proud to launch the OpenSwim Pro, in what is our most versatile headphone to date. With both Bluetooth and MP3 capabilities, OpenSwim Pro unlocks an athlete’s full potential and is built to be comfortable, safe, and secure in any situation.”
Designed with aquatic activities in mind, the OpenSwim Pro maintains an IP68 waterproof rating, allowing it to be submerged up to two meters for up to two hours. The headphones feature a flexible Nickel-Titanium alloy frame combined with soft silicone, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit even when used with swimming caps or goggles. This design enables users to stay aware of their surroundings while enjoying their favorite tunes.
The OpenSwim Pro also boasts 32GB of MP3 memory, accommodating up to 8,000 songs. Users can switch between Bluetooth and MP3 modes with a simple button press or through the Shokz app. Audio quality is enhanced by Shokz’s PremiumPitch 2.0+ technology, delivering clear sound, robust volume, and rich bass. The headphones include two EQ modes: standard and vocal, providing customization options for different listening preferences.
Battery life is another strong point for the OpenSwim Pro, offering up to nine hours of use in Bluetooth mode and six hours in MP3 mode. A quick charge feature provides additional convenience, ensuring users can quickly top up their battery before a workout. Priced at $179.95, the OpenSwim Pro is available in red and grey, catering to users looking for both functionality and style.
The OpenFit Air earbuds are designed for everyday use, emphasizing comfort and situational awareness. These open-ear earbuds sit just above the entrance to the ear, utilizing Shokz's DirectPitch technology to provide a balanced audio experience with minimal sound leakage. Despite being slightly less powerful than their predecessors, the OpenFit Air delivers sufficient audio quality for most users, particularly those who prioritize staying aware of their environment.
Leon Du, Europe Market Director from Shokz, said: “Last year, OpenFit won global consumer favour with its excellent comfort and achieved great sales. This year, we also want to invite more people to enjoy open-ear technology.
With OpenFit Air, you will be able to stay connected to family, friends, and colleagues, or remain situationally aware and motivated while on a workout. OpenFit Air will be available in a smart matte silicone finish in three colours including pink, white and black to effortlessly match any style.”
Weighing just 8.7 grams per earbud, the earbuds feature an ergonomic design with soft silicone and a flexible Ni-Ti memory alloy wire. This design ensures a secure fit, making them suitable for prolonged use without causing discomfort. The earbuds also include an ear hook for added stability, even during vigorous activities.
The OpenFit Air offers up to six hours of battery life on a single charge, with a total of 28 hours when used with the charging case. A quick 10-minute charge provides two additional hours of listening time, making them convenient for users on the go. These earbuds are also equipped with adaptive beamforming microphones to reduce background noise during calls, enhancing their practicality for daily use.
Available in black, white, or pink, the OpenFit Air is priced at $119.95, making it an affordable option for those seeking reliable and comfortable wireless earbuds.
