In the market for a smaller tv? So are a lot of people, it would seem. 32-, 40, and 42-inch LCD TV panels are in short supply right now. The "industry sources" claim that LCD TV panel prices will rise as a result, and is yet another source claiming that the demand for Ultra HD will rise this year.

Recently the market has seen tight supply of 32-, 40- and 42-inch LCD TV panels leading to a shortage for some China- and international-based TV vendors, according to industry sources.
Panel makers have been more focused on producing small- to medium-size panels in recent quarters and have been trying to get rid of reserves as demand for LCD TV panels has been low. However, as demand starts to pick up in preparation for the May 1 holiday period in China panel makers have now begun to see orders pick up, causing shortages to occur in the market.
The sources also said they expect TV panel pricing to start rebounding following nearly a year of declines due to oversupply in the market largely as a result of decreased demand in China as the orders pick up.
The sources added they estimate LCD TV panel pricing will increase by the end of March and further increase later in the second half of the year.
Ultra HD TV panels are expected to be in increased demand in the China market during 2014, the sources noted.
