Sony Electronics Inc. has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 Sony BRAVIA TV lineup, promising to deliver the ultimate cinematic experience right to consumers' living rooms. With a focus on improved picture quality and immersive sound, Sony aims to transport viewers into the heart of the action, just as filmmakers intended.
“Sony has been operating at the heart of the film industry for decades and has unique positioning with their experience in film creation, professional production equipment, and distribution. We want to bring that expertise to consumers’ homes by integrating it into our new BRAVIA TVs and BRAVIA Theater home audio devices,” said Yoshihiro Ono, Head of Home Entertainment Business Unit, Sony Corporation.
The centerpiece of the 2024 Sony BRAVIA TV lineup is the Sony BRAVIA 9 flagship Mini LED, touted as the company's brightest 4K TV to date. Harnessing the power of thousands of Mini LEDs controlled by XR Backlight Master DriveTM technology, the BRAVIA 9 boasts extraordinary peak brightness, deep blacks, and expanded contrast.
This model, available in 85-inch, 75-inch, and 65-inch variants, aims to accurately reproduce natural scenes with stunning detail, thanks to approximately 325% more dimming zones and a 50% increase in brightness compared to its predecessor.
Noteworthy features of the BRAVIA 9 include X-Wide AngleTM for consistent color and brightness from any viewing angle, as well as X-Anti ReflectionTM to reduce screen glare, ensuring a premium picture regardless of lighting conditions.
Moreover, the BRAVIA 9 sets a new standard in audio with Acoustic Multi-Audio+ technology, featuring upward firing Beam Tweeters and side Frame Tweeters for cinematic surround sound.
Sony BRAVIA 9 Mini LED Prices:
Joining the flagship model are the BRAVIA 8 OLED (price range: from $1,999.99 for the 55-inch to $3,899.99 for the 77-inch model) BRAVIA 7 Mini LED (from $1,899.99 for the 55-inch to $3,499.99 for the 85-inch model), and BRAVIA 3 LED (from $599.99 for the 43-inch to $2,499.99 for the 85-inch model) each offering unique enhancements to the viewing experience.
The BRAVIA 8 OLED, available in 77-inch, 65-inch, and 55-inch sizes, showcases the beauty of OLED technology, while the BRAVIA 7 Mini LED and BRAVIA 3 LED cater to a wider range of consumers with various screen sizes and price points.
One of the main features across the 2024 Sony Bravia TV lineup is the intelligent XR ProcessorTM, which analyzes each frame with precision to optimize picture quality for realism. Paired with XR Triluminos ProTM technology, these TVs can display billions of accurate colors, ensuring an immersive viewing experience that stays true to the filmmaker's vision.
In addition to superior picture quality, Sony's BRAVIA TVs come equipped with Studio Calibrated Picture modes, including the newly introduced Prime Video Calibrated Mode. These modes aim to reproduce the image quality intended by filmmakers, providing customers with optimum picture quality across movies, series, and live sports.
To complement the viewing experience, Sony has introduced the BRAVIA Theater home audio product lineup, designed for seamless integration with BRAVIA TVs. Features such as Acoustic Center Sync and Voice Zoom 3TM enhance dialogue clarity and mimic the immersive sound of a cinema, bringing viewers closer to the action.
The BRAVIA 2024 TV lineup is not only compatible with IMAX Enhanced, but also certified by IMAX and DTS to deliver optimized IMAX picture and sound. Furthermore, select series from Crunchyroll will be available on SONY PICTURES CORE, adding a host of anime content to the streaming service package.
“We’re excited to bring audiences an unrivaled cinematic experience in the home and beyond with Sony’s new BRAVIA IMAX Enhanced certified TVs and BRAVIA Theater home audio products,” said Vikram Arumilli, SVP and GM, Streaming and Consumer Technology at IMAX.
“IMAX Enhanced is designed to preserve and enhance filmmaker’s vision and intent, and Sony's expanded device offering adds more ways for fans to experience the power of IMAX through some of the most iconic films hosted on the platform.”
