With Oppo and Samsung both exiting the UHD Blu-ray player market, there's been a bit of doom and gloom surrounding the future of silver discs here recently. But Sony's having none of it. The company's new UBP-X1100ES, available now for $599.99, plays pretty much any and every five-inch silver disc you're likely to have floating around the house, including Ultra HD Blu-ray, BD-ROM, SACD, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-R Dual Layer, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R Double Layer, CD, and CD-R/RW.
It also supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, but as best we can tell no HDR10+.
