Sony has announced the pricing and availability details for its highly anticipated flagship TV, the Sony BRAVIA XR A95L QD-OLED 4K HDR Google TV. This model, first showcased at CES 2023, boasts the latest QD-OLED display technology, promising remarkable color brightness that surpasses conventional OLED displays by up to 200%.
The Sony BRAVIA XR A95L will be available in three different class sizes - 55 inches, 65 inches, and the largest option with a 77-inch screen size. Preorders for all sizes will begin on August 21, 2023, at Sony authorized dealers across the United States. However, Sony has yet to confirm the shipping date for these preorders.
Interestingly, the pricing for Sony's QD-OLED TV line has surprised many as it comes in lower than initially speculated. The earlier 2022 QD-OLED models from Sony and Samsung were only available in 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes and had been relatively pricier than their conventional OLED counterparts.
However, with the announcement of the A95L series, Sony has not only expanded the lineup to include a 77-inch model but also managed to reduce prices, making the QD-OLED TVs a more attractive option for consumers.
The pricing for the Sony A95L QD-OLED TVs is as follows:
One of the most significant highlights of the A95L is its QD-OLED display technology, which promises to deliver colors and hues like never before. The intelligent Cognitive Processor XR enhances the QD-OLED screen with XR Triluminos Max, providing up to 200% more color brightness compared to conventional OLED TVs.
The result should be a truly immersive visual experience with vibrant, lifelike colors and deep, pure blacks, bringing movies, shows, and games to life with exceptional detail and depth.
The TV's gaming capabilities are optimized for PlayStation 5 users with features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, ensuring an optimized picture quality while gaming and streaming on the PS5 console. The Game Menu feature should allow users to conveniently manage gaming picture settings and exclusive assist features in a single interface.
Sony has also tailored the A95L to be a perfect companion for PlayStation 5 gaming enthusiasts. The TV's Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, which uses actuators behind the screen to vibrate and produce audio, enhances sound perception, particularly when it comes to dialogue. An integrated subwoofer should further improve the audio experience, and deliver powerful bass.
Additionally, users can pair the BRAVIA XR A95L with select Sony soundbars for Acoustic Center Sync, which synchronizes the TV's speakers with the soundbar, providing clearer and fuller vocals. When connected, the soundbar settings automatically appear on the TV's Quick Settings menu, allowing for easy control of volume, sound field, and other soundbar features.
Each BRAVIA XR A95L comes equipped with a Sony Bravia Cam, enabling Ambient Optimization Pro. This feature automatically optimizes picture and sound based on the viewer's position in the room. The Bravia Cam also enables video chat capabilities, making it easier for users to stay connected with friends and family on the big screen.
With the pre-order date just around the corner, tech enthusiasts and gamers alike are eager to test and experience Sony's cutting-edge QD-OLED technology in the A95L series, which promises to offer vibrant colors, immersive audio, and an unmatched gaming experience.
