The new ATX100's dual 2.5-inch Kevlar-reinforced pulp mid-bass drivers and 0.75-inch titanium dome tweeter fire upward into an acoustically controlled wave guide that projects the sound off the ceiling to creating the immersive effect for Dolby Atmos and other object-based formats. According to SpeakerCraft, the ATX100 "adheres to Dolby's recommended specifications and requirements for optimal performance," and it features a fully integrated acoustic back box. The ATX100 is available now for $349.

From SpeakerCraft
SpeakerCraft is demonstrating the world's first Dolby Atmos enabled in-wall height speaker, the AIM Series 2 ATX100, at ISE 2017. The SpeakerCraft ATX100 reflects sound off the ceiling to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, to bring entertainment alive for the audience. Last month at CES 2017, the revolutionary speaker was named "Loudspeaker of the Year" at the 2017 Consumer Technology Association's Mark of Excellence Award Ceremony.

The new Dolby Atmos enabled in-wall height speaker, together with the introduction of an expanded top-of-the-line AIM Series 2 family of in-wall speakers, reinforces the brand's commitment to constantly define new standards for speaker performance, reliability, and value.

According to Mike Jordan, Core Brands VP Product Management, the ATX100 brings out the best in object-based audio; the immersive experience it delivers is incredible. "As the world's first Dolby Atmos enabled in-wall speaker, it's a leap forward that will simplify how technology integrators design and implement truly immersive audio systems for their clients. It delivers theater-caliber listening experiences with any source material coming through a Dolby Atmos enabled AVR in any media room," he said. "We're honored to win 'Loudspeaker of the Year' and excited to demo this remarkable speaker for ISE 2017 show attendees."

The ATX100 is the architectural in-wall solution to the traditional floor-standing or bookshelf height speakers currently available. The design adheres to Dolby's recommended specifications and requirements for optimal performance.

"We focus on creating solutions for our dealers and their customers," continued Jordan. "The ATX100 is a win for both. As an in-wall speaker, the ATX100 improves room aesthetics over the floor-standing or bookshelf height speakers. That's a win for homeowners, who don't always have a ceiling that can handle installed speakers. Plus, dealers win with an easy path to upgrade existing systems to object-based surround."

SpeakerCraft-ATX100-down.jpgThe ATX100's dual drivers and tweeter fire upward into the acoustically controlled wave guide that projects the Dolby Atmos height cue information off the ceiling, creating the immersive effect. The 0.75-inch custom titanium dome tweeter with high-energy Neodymium magnet structure boasts frequency response up to 22 kHz. With its dual 2.5-inch Kevlar-reinforced pulp mid-bass drivers, the ATX100 can handle up to 125 watts of amplifier power at eight ohms.

To maximize the sound reproduction and minimize sound transmission to adjacent rooms, the ATX100 features a fully integrated acoustic back box. And like other speakers in the AIM Series 2 line, it leverages SpeakerCraft's Acoustic Isolation Technology to minimize acoustic energy transfer to the mounting and surrounding surfaces. This acoustic decoupling allows listeners to hear more of the actual speaker and less of the sound that normally radiates from the mounting surface.

The ATX100 Height Speaker has an MSRP of $349 and is now available for shipping worldwide.
