Stewart Filmscreen Earns GREENGUARD Certification For Screens, Materials and More

stewart_starglas-green.gifStewart Filmscreen just received GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification for framing systems and materials. The GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification indicates that a product has met the highest standards for clean indoor air and contributes to healthy work, home, school and other indoor environments. GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification establishes strict chemical emission limits to define low-emitting materials for environments where people spend an extended period of time. Children, in particular, are vulnerable to airborne toxins, as they have higher inhalation rates per pound of body weight than adults.

GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of "green" building programs, including the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED® Rating System. The not-for-profit GREENGUARD Environmental Institute oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Programs and establishes acceptable indoor standards for indoor products, environments and buildings.

"Stewart Filmscreen Corporation has long been the number one innovator of projection screen technology in the world. We have won numerous awards over our past 62 years of service to the audio-visual industry, but one of the awards we are most proud of is the one we won in 2005 for manufacturing our products responsibly. The County of Los Angeles, California presented us their Smart Business Recycling Award for clean manufacturing. This GREENGUARD Certification is yet another example that we produce the most environmentally friendly products for the health and well being of all people who view our optically superior products," stated Tom Stewart, VP, CFO, Owner of Stewart Filmscreen.

All of Stewart Filmscreen's framing systems have been certified, along with the following materials: FireHawk G3, FireHawk SST, GrayMatte 70, GrayHawk RS G3, StudioTek 130 G3, UltraMatte 130, UltraMatte 150, UltraMatte 200, Silver 3D, AeroView 70, AeroView 100, LumiFlex 130, Filmscreen 100, Filmscreen 150, StarGlas 60, StarGlas 100, AeroPlex 70, AeroGlas 70, Aero Plex 100, AeroGlas 100, LumiPlex 130, LumiGlas 130, TechPlex 100, TechPlex 150, TechScreen100, TechScreen 150, Graphite 70, Graphite 100, and CrystalView 60.
