Audio Pro, a Swedish brand known for producing quality loudspeakers for over four decades, has entered a new phase of innovation with the release of its A10 and C10 MKII WiiM Edition speakers. These new models are equipped with the feature-rich WiiM OS, an operating system designed for high-quality audio streaming and multiroom audio control. This collaboration merges Audio Pro's established speaker design expertise with the versatility of WiiM's advanced software platform, creating a dynamic and streamlined smart home audio experience.
The Audio Pro A10 and C10 MKII, available as WiiM Editions, retain much of the same hardware as the original non-WiiM versions. The A10 delivers 50 watts of output, and the C10 outputs 80 watts, both designed to provide impressive sound for various spaces in the home. The primary distinction of these editions lies in the integration of WiiM OS, a system that allows users to seamlessly stream music, control playback, and connect various devices through a single interface.
The WiiM OS platform adds a host of smart features to the A10 and C10, including support for high-resolution audio playback and multiroom audio functionality. Users can manage their audio devices through the WiiM Home app, which connects with several major music streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Qobuz. Whether streaming from an online service or a local music library, the system offers flexibility in content management and device control.
One of the most significant enhancements that WiiM OS brings to these speakers is compatibility with Apple AirPlay, Google Chromecast, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. These integrations make it easier for users to stream music wirelessly from their preferred apps across multiple devices. Additionally, both speakers support gapless playback, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted listening, particularly for high-resolution audio tracks up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
Both models also offer versatile connectivity options. The A10 MKII features a 3.5mm analog input, while the C10 MKII includes stereo RCA ports and a subwoofer output, making it ideal for larger spaces or more complex audio setups. These inputs allow users to connect external devices like turntables or TVs, expanding the functionality of the speakers beyond wireless streaming.
A key feature of the WiiM OS is its ability to support multiroom audio setups. Users can connect multiple WiiM-compatible devices and control them all through the WiiM Home app, making it easy to play synchronized music throughout the house or to set up different audio zones. This functionality puts the Audio Pro speakers in direct competition with multiroom systems like Sonos, but with a broader range of third-party compatibility.
For users who prefer hands-free operation, the WiiM OS integrates with voice assistants such as Google Assistant and Siri. While the A10 and C10 MKII do not have built-in microphones, they can be controlled through other compatible voice assistant devices, allowing for easy control of playback, volume adjustments, and track selection using simple voice commands.
In terms of sound customization, WiiM OS offers extensive EQ options, allowing users to tailor the audio output to suit their personal preferences or the acoustic environment of their home. The system provides both preset EQ options and more advanced graphic and parametric equalization settings for users who want to fine-tune their audio experience.
Looking ahead, WiiM plans to release firmware updates that will add additional features to the Audio Pro speakers. Among these updates are Automatic Room Correction, which will adjust the speakers' output based on the acoustic characteristics of the room, and Advanced Bass Management, which will optimize bass performance. These updates are expected to further improve the flexibility and performance of the A10 and C10 MKII models.
The Audio Pro A10 MKII WiiM Edition is priced at $229 and comes in a dark gray finish, while the C10 MKII WiiM Edition is available for $399 in black.
