From TCL
TCL has announced pricing and availability of its 4K HDR TCL Roku TV models. The new U.S. portfolio, shown for the first time at the 2017 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, includes two premium lines of TCL TVs that deliver Dolby Vision HDR technology and the Roku OS, merging superior picture quality with the industry's best smart TV experience.
Combining stunning Dolby Vision picture quality with award-winning smart TVs that integrate the latest version of the Roku OS and its extensive lineup of streaming channels--more than 5,000 channels and 450,000+ movies and TV episodes--TCL will offer six new models across two series. Both the C and P series feature Dolby Vision high-dynamic range (HDR) technology for powerful imaging, Wide Color performance with NBP Photon Technology to achieve color space coverage that's closer to the limits of human vision, and Contrast Control technologies to yield extreme contrast with deeper blacks and brighter whites
TCL's C and P series meet the highest standards in HDR technology, supporting both Dolby Vision as well as generic HDR (HDR10). The C-series starts under $700 and will include 55" (55C807, $699), 65" (65C807, $1099) and 75" (75C807, $1999) 4K HDR TCL Roku TV models. TCL's P-series will be offered in 50" (50P607), 55" (55P607), and 65" (65P607) screen sizes with the 55" model available for a special introductory price of $599 via pre-order on Amazon.com starting May 26th.
"With more Dolby Vision as well as generic HDR content now available through the streaming content providers, TCL is delivering premium products with leading technology like Dolby Vision and the Roku OS at the perfect time," said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL. "Consumers are hungry for bigger screens with best-in-class picture quality, and TCL is meeting both of those needs by leveraging Dolby's deep expertise in bringing advanced technologies from the cinema to the home in our newest TV models. The 4K HDR TCL Roku TVs are the perfect addition to elevate our portfolio and continue driving TCL's success in the U.S."
Leveraging the HDR technology that powers Dolby's most advanced cinemas around the world, Dolby Vision transforms the TV experience in the home by delivering greater brightness and contrast, as well as a fuller palette of rich colors. It is the preferred HDR mastering workflow for major studios and a growing number of creatives, so consumers will have access to more of what they want to watch in HDR, including a growing portfolio of movies and TV episodes. Dolby delivers spectacular experiences in broadcast, gaming, music and other genres, and this expertise serves as the foundation that will enable Dolby Vision to drive the future of entertainment tomorrow.
"We are excited to partner with TCL to make Dolby Vision more broadly available than ever before," said Roland Vlaicu, Vice President, Multi-Screen Services Video, Dolby Laboratories. "With Dolby Vision on TCL TVs, consumers can now unlock superior HDR performance that delivers a more lifelike entertainment experience in their living room."
TCL Roku TV P-Series: Powerful Picture Performance
TCL combines superior 4K UHD picture quality with Dolby Vision in the P-Series, which offers the ultimate HDR imaging experience. With the popular Roku OS offering access to the most streaming content, including the growing collection of Dolby Vision and generic HDR titles, the P-Series gives consumers access to great content and the perfect TV to enjoy it. With HDR Contrast Control Zones, contrast is individually optimized across 72 zones to achieve highly localized areas of striking contrast between bright and dark areas of the image, providing an unrivaled sense of depth and reality. The series also features Wide Color performance with TCL's NBP Photon technology that produces a vibrant and rich color palette that is so advanced it covers nearly all the DCI-P3 color standard.
TCL Roku TV C-Series: Contemporary Design
The C-Series marries stunning 4K high-dynamic range and super slim, elegant design for an upscale TV experience. Like the P-Series, the line supports Dolby Vision and features the popular Roku OS. The C-Series also features Wide Color performance powered by TCL's NBP Photon technology, adding another vivid chromatic dimension on top of the striking HDR contrast and sharp 4K resolution to deliver a remarkable visual experience. Because the C-Series features TCL's HDR Dynamic Contrast technology, content is displayed with optimized brightness for each scene, ensuring life-like reproduction of images from the brightest brights to the darkest darks.
