Focal is giving its high-end wireless speaker, the Diva Utopia, a fresh new look. Starting this June, the speaker will be available in three new lacquered finishes—Black High Gloss, Dune High Gloss, and Off White High Gloss—offering buyers a more tailored visual option to match their home decor. These glossy additions join the original Grey Felt finish that launched with the product in late 2024.

While the speaker’s internal hardware and sound quality stay the same, this design update is all about giving users more ways to integrate the Diva Utopia into their space, whether they want it to stand out or blend in.

Let’s start with the finishes themselves. The Black High Gloss option is sleek and bold, with a classic piano-black style. Dune High Gloss brings something a bit flashier to the table, with a reflective silver-gold tone that catches light in different ways depending on the angle. Off White High Gloss, on the other hand, leans into subtlety, with a neutral tone that fits easily into modern or minimalist rooms.

Each finish is lacquered and polished for a high-gloss shine that enhances the speaker’s curves and floating panel design. While the original Grey Felt version uses a soft, eco-certified textile for a more understated appearance, these new options are clearly made for those looking to showcase the speaker as a centerpiece.

For those who already own a Diva Utopia, the new panels can be purchased separately and installed by professionals through Focal’s retail partners. This upgrade path means early adopters won’t be left out if they’re drawn to the new color options.

The Diva Utopia is still, at its core, a fully active and wireless speaker system. It’s a three-way, bass-reflex design with built-in amplification and streaming support, so it doesn’t need any external equipment to operate. That alone makes it appealing for users who want high-performance sound without the cable clutter and rack of components that usually come with it.

The speaker’s standout feature is its use of Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless tech, co-developed with a partner, which allows the left and right speakers to communicate with each other at extremely high resolution and very low latency.

According to Focal, the sound quality goes beyond traditional CD-level playback and approaches what you'd hear in a professional studio setting. Even when the speakers are placed up to 10 meters apart, the UWB connection remains stable and uncompressed.

Each speaker contains its own 400-watt amplifier, tuned in collaboration with Naim, and supports high-resolution audio up to 348kHz/32-bit. The speaker uses Focal’s ‘W’ cone material in its midbass drivers and a beryllium ‘M’-profile tweeter—components designed to deliver accuracy and clarity without sounding clinical.

Despite being a high-performance audio system, the Diva Utopia is designed for ease of use. It supports all the major wireless protocols—Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and UPnP—and works with streaming services like Spotify, TIDAL, and Qobuz. You can also connect it to a TV, turntable, or other source devices either wirelessly or via a wired connection.

Control options include a dedicated app, a physical remote, and voice control through Apple and Google assistants. The system is also multiroom capable and fits into the wider Focal/Naim ecosystem, so users can sync music across rooms or build out a more complex home audio setup if they choose.

The Diva Utopia remains priced at $39,999 per pair (or CAD 51,999 in Canada), and the new lacquered finish options will be available for an additional $9,500 USD / $11,999 CAD. They’ll be sold exclusively through select Focal Powered by Naim retail stores starting in June 2025.

Existing owners interested in switching to the new look can purchase the upgraded side panels separately, with installation handled by trained professionals through the same retail network.

This update doesn’t change how the Diva Utopia sounds or functions, but it does offer more flexibility in how it fits into your space. Whether you want a classic high-gloss black, a flashy metallic finish, or something soft and neutral, there’s now a version of this high-end wireless speaker that’s likely to work with your style.

For a product that already combines serious audio performance with modern convenience, these new finishes simply round out the package, giving users more ways to make the Diva Utopia feel like a part of their home.
