The Eversolo DMP-A10 Has Arrived, and It Might Just Be the Best Streaming DAC Yet

Eversolo’s latest flagship, the DMP-A10, marks a notable addition to the growing high-end DAC market, bringing together streaming, digital-to-digital conversion (DDC), and preamp functionalities in one robust device. Following the success of the DMP-A6 and DMP-A8, the Eversolo DMP-A10 aims to expand the brand’s lineup with a more feature-rich model, incorporating a variety of advanced functions aimed at audio enthusiasts looking for a versatile and streamlined audio solution.

The Eversolo DMP-A10 is housed in a 430mm-wide chassis, a standard size that integrates well with traditional audio systems. Its front panel showcases a 6.5-inch high-definition touchscreen, an upgrade from previous models, along with a 1.28-inch circular display embedded within the volume knob that can display album art or system status.

Eversolo has equipped the DMP-A10 with an ESS9039 Pro DAC chip, one of ESS’s top offerings, supported by dual linear power supplies designed to minimize noise and distortion. This design focus underscores Eversolo’s ambition to provide a product that meets the demands of high-end audio enthusiasts.

To further enhance sound clarity, the Eversolo DMP-A10 employs a dual OCXO (oven-controlled crystal oscillator) clock system, maintaining stable frequencies and reducing phase noise and jitter, which the company reports to be under 50 femtoseconds. These features should ensure that the DMP-A10 delivers a high level of audio fidelity, with rigorous testing applied to each oscillator to maintain consistent clock signals and minimize sonic degradation.

For connectivity, the DMP-A10 offers multiple digital inputs, including two coaxial, two optical, HDMI ARC, and a USB-B port. These options support a range of external devices, from personal computers to mobile devices, allowing users to configure the DMP-A10 as a digital transport or integrate it into existing audio setups.

A unique addition is the DMP-A10’s isolated USB audio port, designed to address issues associated with high-noise sources and grounding loops, ensuring minimal signal interference.

Expanding its versatility, the DMP-A10 includes both digital and analog outputs, with the analog section featuring balanced XLR and RCA options. The DAC is also capable of acting as a fully balanced preamp, incorporating R2R analog volume control to offer more precise adjustments. The DMP-A10 allows users to connect one or two subwoofers, with options to fine-tune subwoofer settings, including crossover frequency and delay adjustments.

The DMP-A10’s music management capabilities are tailored to accommodate large audio libraries, with options to import music files stored on NAS devices or network drives. The device also features dual SSD slots, each capable of supporting up to 4TB of storage, which offers ample room for music collections and enables local playback without requiring additional network resources.

For physical media enthusiasts, the DMP-A10 supports CD playback and ripping via an external CD-ROM drive, allowing users to digitize their collection for easy access.

Eversolo has incorporated an upgraded parametric EQ and digital room correction technology, providing users the ability to adjust audio output based on the characteristics of their listening environment. Eversolo’s Original Sampling-rate Audio Engine (EOS) bypasses Android’s standard sample rate converter to deliver bit-perfect playback, a significant feature for those seeking unaltered audio from their digital files.

When it comes to music streaming, the DMP-A10 offers a well-rounded selection of supported services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, and Spotify. Additionally, the device features a Global Music Search function, allowing users to locate specific tracks across multiple services. The DMP-A10 is compatible with Tidal Connect and Roon (pending certification), providing further options for audiophiles looking for a high-end streaming experience.

In terms of networking, the Eversolo DMP-A10 offers both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, as well as an SFP Fiber network port, giving users flexible options for network setup. This range of connection methods adds another layer of adaptability, making the DMP-A10 a versatile option for different network configurations.

While the DMP-A10 introduces numerous high-end features, it also includes a more streamlined control experience. Eversolo’s companion app allows users to operate the device remotely and even mirror its display on a smartphone in landscape mode. The device’s remote control has also received an update, offering a more polished look to match the DMP-A10’s premium build.

The Eversolo DMP-A10 is available now for pre-order for $3680 at Dreamedia.
