The CR-1 boasts a 15-inch woofer, two 8-inch midranges, and a proprietary air motion transformer tweeter, all sourced from European professional driver manufacturers. It is the company's loudest playing loudspeaker to date, reportedly exceeding 120 dB at 1 meter.
New for Triad is the Diffraction Control Technology (DCT) baffle design employed by the CR-1. The CR-1 cabinet is made of premium MDF and utilizes extensive asymmetrical bracing, internal proprietary-damping materials, and back-wave deflectors. Relatively modest in size at 46-inches (H) x 31-inches (W) x 10-inches (D), the CR-1 fits behind an acoustically transparent film screen or 11-inch deep stretched-fabric wall. It can be wall mounted with up to 12 degrees of toe-in adjustment, or used as a freestanding product with the optional floor mount. Finishes include flat black, real wood veneer and custom colors.
MSRP for the CR-1 is targeted for $15,000 (each). Availability is planned for 4th quarter.
