Victrola has announced the release of its latest flagship product, the Victrola Stream Sapphire, which was previously showcased at CES 2024 in January. This new model is designed to provide an enhanced wireless vinyl listening experience with advanced connectivity options and superior sound quality. The Stream Sapphire is set to be available for pre-order at Crutchfield and through Victrola’s website, with a launch in the United States scheduled for mid-August 2024 at a price of $1,299.
The Victrola Stream Sapphire is engineered to cater to the needs of modern audiophiles by incorporating both Sonos and UPnP integration. This feature allows users to stream their vinyl records wirelessly to a variety of Wi-Fi-enabled speakers and audio devices. The turntable supports streaming in up to 24-bit/48kHz lossless FLAC audio, ensuring high-fidelity sound quality without the need for additional equipment.
Users can effortlessly connect the Stream Sapphire to their preferred speaker systems using the Victrola Stream app. The process is designed to be user-friendly, making it simple for both seasoned audiophiles and new vinyl enthusiasts to enjoy a seamless wireless listening experience.
The Victrola Stream Sapphire boasts a range of high-quality components that contribute to its superior audio performance. The turntable features a low-resonance MDF plinth, wrapped in real walnut veneer, which helps to reduce unwanted vibrations and enhance sound clarity. Additionally, the aluminum bezel and height-adjustable sound-dampening feet further isolate the turntable from external disturbances.
A key highlight of the Stream Sapphire is its pre-installed Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, known for its excellent sound reproduction and dynamic range. The cartridge is mounted on a removable headshell, allowing for easy replacement or upgrades. The carbon-fiber tonearm, coupled with a precision gimbal-bearing design, ensures smooth and accurate tracking, minimizing distortion and delivering detailed playback.
The turntable’s two-speed, brushless servo-controlled motor provides consistent and quiet operation, supporting both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM playback speeds. This allows users to enjoy a wide variety of vinyl records with optimal sound quality.
In addition to its wireless streaming capabilities, the Victrola Stream Sapphire offers several traditional connectivity options. It features a built-in pre-amp and gold-plated RCA outputs, making it compatible with a range of analog audio systems, including stereo receivers and powered speakers. This versatility allows users to integrate the turntable into both modern and classic audio setups.
The Stream Sapphire also supports other popular streaming protocols, such as Roon Ready, AirPlay, and Chromecast, expanding its compatibility with various audio devices and streaming services. This wide range of connectivity options ensures that the Stream Sapphire can accommodate diverse listening preferences and setups.
The Victrola Stream Sapphire combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. Its solid MDF plinth with walnut veneer not only enhances sound quality but also adds a touch of elegance to any listening space. The turntable’s aluminum platter and sound-dampening feet contribute to its stable and vibration-free performance.
Another notable feature of the Stream Sapphire is its illuminated control knob, which allows users to easily adjust volume and playback settings directly from the turntable. This tactile control enhances the overall user experience, providing a convenient and intuitive way to manage the turntable’s functions.
The Victrola Stream Sapphire will be available for pre-order at specialty audio retailers such as Crutchfield. It will also be offered through Victrola’s website and select custom installation dealers starting in mid-August 2024. The turntable is priced at $1,299 for the US market. In the UK, the Stream Sapphire will be available starting October 1, 2024, with pricing details to be announced.
