Since the 1970's, Vutec Corporation has been working with 3D screen technology. Vutec now offers the company's most comprehensive 2D/3D screens currently available: the SilverStar 2D/3D-A (active technology) & SilverStar 2D/3D-P (passive technology). Both screens are engineered for both 2D and 3D capability. According to Vutec, these screens produce high brightness, vivid colors, high contrast, and wide viewing areas.

The issue most other types of screens have is that both Active and Passive 3D technology currently require 3D glasses which diminishes the image brightness by approximately 50%. This is created by the polarization or the blanking process that is creating the 3D effect. The SilverStar screen attempts to rectify this by producing a reportedly bright, sharp, and vivid 3D viewing experience. The company maintains that the SilverStar 2D/3D-A and 2D/3D-P allow a home theater system to be more energy efficient, by allowing projectors to be operated in economy mode and increasing bulb life.
SilverStar 3D is offered in standard sizes and can be custom made to order and multi-plexed for large applications. SilverStar 3D is available in both the Vision X and Vutec brands and can be offered in a flat or curved version.
