Cleer Audio is a headphone and smart speaker company with a talented and deeply experienced crew behind its product, and over the years I have watched the company refine its formula of designing affordable high performance personal and lifestyle audio gear. Now, with CES 2022 just weeks away, Cleer comes out with new, immersive sound headphones: The ALPHA ($249). What makes these unique and different than other immersive sound solutions is the use of DIRAC Virtuo spatial audio. According to the company, this is a "game-changer."
The Cleer ALPHA has won a "2022 CES Innovations Honoree Award" for outstanding design and engineering, awarded by the CTA (the Consumer Technology Association, which runs CES).
So, what is ALPHA? It's a stylish full-size premium wireless pair of headphones that combine top-tier adaptive noise cancelling with Dirac's immersive sound tech. And according to the press material, Dirac's algorithms give listeners an immersive experience without the need for additional hardware or specially encoded audio. They call it "high-precision and transparent spatial audio."
Other features include 35-hour playback, and only 10 minutes of USB-C charging gives 4+ hours of additional battery life. ALPHA comes in Midnight Blue and Stone color schemes and is available to purchase now.
