With the extraordinary 2022 OLED TVs, LG Electronics USA (LG) today introduced its most advanced and spectacular TV collection ever. In addition to superior imaging technologies, LG's newest models will get an enhanced webOS with even more smart features and functions.

LG G2 OLED and C2 OLED

The new LG G2 series model has LG's finest OLED panel. Both the C2 and G2 get new Evo panels, which offer higher brightness for picture quality that renders incredible detail. With LG's new (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor powering the Brightness Booster technology, the G2 leverages improved heat dissipation to achieve higher brightness.

LG also has a couple of new sizes for the G2 series. There's an 83 inch, and now an ultra-large 97-inch model—a first-of-its-kind—that joins existing 55, 65, and 77-inch options.

A New Processor

The picture processor is where the action is at with today's TVs. LG is certainly not resting on its laurels, it introduces the alpha 9 Gen 5 That features deep learning capability for improved upscaling and creating a greater distinction between foreground and background elements. The processor is also employed to improve the sound, upgrading the TV's capability to Virtual 7.1.2 using only the built-in speakers.

Building on OLED picture quality

According to LG, these new 2022 OLED TVs are certified by testing agency InterTek to provide "100% color Fidelity and 100% color volume." The company also notes certifications from UL (Underwriters Laboratory) for being glare-free and flicker-free,  and an additional flicker-free certification by TÜV Rheinland.

Extensive Gaming Capabilities

Owners of 2022 LG C2 and G20 LEDs will not be left wanting when it comes to gaming features. The company's OLED TVs already have features like support for VRR and ALLM, and can achieve incredibly low input lag (1ms response time). For 2022, LG adds support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud gaming, And it has made it easy to switch between gaming-specific features and presets from a Game Optimizer menu. Included here is a new Dark Room Mode that adjusts the screen for optimal gaming with lights turned off.

VRR is achieved with both G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium. And LG has added a new genre-optimized gaming mode, now a sports mode  Jo-Ann's first-person shooter, role-playing, and real-time strategy game-specific modes.

Imagine if an auto maker sold cars that required paying an expert mechanic to adjust the brakes, steering, fuel consumption, etc. before it would run right. I own an earlier LG model and the picture is annoying to look at. 4K seems like 3D hype.
