Wireworld, a manufacturer of audio, video, and digital cables, has introduced its first upgrade USB cable. The Ultraviolet USB features a flat design that allows it to function over significantly long runs, up to 7 meters (23 feet).
"Now that USB Audio inputs have become a standard feature on home theater receivers and desktop music systems, the demand for upgrade USB cables is absolutely exploding," said David Salz, president of Wireworld. "Our unique flat cable design not only improves performance, but it allows you to connect digital music devices over longer distances -for instance, a laptop PC across the room from the home theater system."
The design of Wireworld's Ultraviolet USB cable is derived from the company's flat HDMI cables. According to the company, the conductor topology reduces digital jitter to minimize the audible degradation and noise caused by error correction circuits. The cables use 26 gauge silver plated oxygen-free copper conductors and proprietary low-loss ground path to maintain performance at longer lengths. The cable's flat profile is only .12" (3mm) thick.
Available in 1M, 2M, 3M, 5M and 7M lengths. 1M-$49.45, 2M-$59.95, 3M-$69.95, 5M-$89.95, 7M-$109.95.
Wireworld's flat Ultraviolet USB cable will begin shipping in early September.
