Most projectors are built for one job—throw a picture on the wall and call it a day. But Yaber’s T1 Pro is trying something different by mixing movie nights with mood lighting, all in a compact design that doesn’t scream “tech.” The T1 Pro is a canister-shaped projector designed for people who want something small and easy to move, with just enough features to cover casual streaming, soft ambient lighting, and quick setup in tight spaces.
Whether you're in a bedroom, a dorm, or just don’t want to dedicate a wall to a big-screen TV, the T1 Pro tries to offer some flexibility without taking over your room.
The T1 Pro looks a bit like a modern desk lamp, and that’s partly the idea. The projector sits on a single-arm gimbal that tilts 180 degrees. So when you're not using it to watch something, you can flip it downward and turn on its built-in lamp feature. The light is adjustable in both brightness and tone, with warm and cool options and a few color presets too. It’s not just a gimmick—it could be useful as a night light, for relaxing, or even for setting a calm atmosphere while listening to music.
It’s also light enough to move around easily, weighing just over 3 pounds and featuring a carry strap at the top. Just keep in mind there’s no built-in battery, so it needs to stay plugged in wherever you use it.
On the video side, the T1 Pro uses a native 1080p LED projection system. It’s capable of projecting images from 40 to 120 inches, and with a 1.18:1 throw ratio, it doesn't require a ton of space between the projector and the screen or wall.
That said, it’s not meant for daylight viewing. The brightness is rated at 220 ANSI lumens, which is fine for dimly lit rooms or nighttime use, but you’ll probably want blackout curtains if you’re trying to use it during the day. In short: this is more of a nighttime or mood-viewing kind of projector than something you'd use for sunny living rooms.
Yaber includes a few smart features to make setting up the T1 Pro less of a hassle. It comes with autofocus, auto keystone correction, and screen alignment tools. There’s even some kind of obstacle avoidance feature built in, which should help if you’re pointing the projector somewhere awkward.
It doesn’t run Android TV or Google TV, but its Linux-based system still supports big apps like Netflix and Prime Video. You can connect to Wi-Fi 6 for streaming or use HDMI and USB ports to plug in other gear. Bluetooth 5.4 is also on board, along with a headphone jack for quiet watching or external speakers.
Inside the base of the projector is a single 8-watt speaker, which Yaber says is backed by an acoustic chamber designed to help push bass to the front and rear. There’s also support for Dolby Audio, which should give it a more balanced sound profile.
Still, this is a small speaker in a small device, so expectations should be realistic. It might be perfectly fine for casual listening, but if you’re after room-filling sound or watching action-heavy content, you might want to connect it to a better speaker setup.
Even though it’s shaped like a lamp and has a strap, this isn’t a truly portable projector in the wireless sense. It needs to be plugged into a wall outlet to work, so that limits where you can use it, especially outdoors or in places without easy access to power.
Also, while the built-in light adds a fun and relaxing feature, it’s more of a bonus than a core function. The projector still revolves around its video capabilities, so if you're only interested in it as a fancy lamp, there are probably cheaper and better lighting solutions.
The Yaber T1 Pro isn’t trying to be a full-on home theater powerhouse, and it’s probably not the best choice if you want a bright, all-day display. But if you’re looking for a compact projector that’s easy to move, simple to set up, and doubles as a customizable lamp, it brings some interesting ideas to the table.
It’s a gadget that leans more toward casual use and ambiance—something that might suit a relaxed night in better than a Sunday sports marathon.
At $159.99 during preorder, the T1 Pro is positioned as an affordable option in the lifestyle projector category. There’s no word yet on what the price will be after the launch window ends.
