If you own a Denon or Marantz device with HEOS Built-in, there’s some good news: you can now stream music directly from the Qobuz app to your speakers or receiver using Qobuz Connect. No more switching apps, dealing with extra remotes, or relying on AirPlay or Bluetooth. The feature is live now and rolling out globally.
This update adds Qobuz to the list of services—alongside TIDAL and Deezer—that already work with HEOS products, giving users more ways to enjoy high-resolution music with minimal hassle.
Qobuz Connect is a new feature from the French hi-res music streaming platform Qobuz. It lets you stream directly from the Qobuz app to compatible devices without needing to use the HEOS app or any other middleman. You just tap the “Connect” icon in the Qobuz app, pick your Denon or Marantz device from the list, and hit play. That’s it.
It works kind of like Spotify Connect or TIDAL Connect—except in this case, it’s tailored for users who want the highest possible sound quality. Qobuz streams music in CD-quality lossless and even higher resolution formats (up to 24-bit / 192 kHz), which makes it a go-to for audiophiles.
This update applies to Denon and Marantz devices with HEOS Built-in. That covers a pretty wide range of products, from wireless speakers and integrated amplifiers to AV receivers and network streamers. A few examples include:
If you already have one of these and it’s connected to the internet, you probably just need to run a firmware update to get Qobuz Connect working. Same goes for making sure your Qobuz app is up to date.
HEOS is Denon and Marantz’s in-house multi-room audio platform. It lets you sync music across different rooms, stream from multiple services, or access local files from a USB drive or NAS. Over the years, it’s added more streaming options and flexibility, and this Qobuz Connect integration is the latest move in that direction.
Up until now, if you wanted to stream Qobuz on a Denon or Marantz device, you had to use the HEOS app or some workaround like AirPlay. Now, you can do it all from the Qobuz app itself, which streamlines the experience quite a bit.
This kind of integration is especially useful if you have a multi-room setup or you like to bounce between devices—say, headphones on your phone and then your hi-fi system when you get home. It also means the audio is streamed directly to the device, which can help maintain better sound quality and reduce battery usage on your phone.
In a related development, many of these same HEOS devices are also now Roon Ready. If you’re using Roon to manage your music library, that means you’ll be able to stream to these devices with the same ease as you would to a Roon-certified streamer. More models are expected to be added soon.
This gives music fans even more flexibility when it comes to playback and library management, especially if you're someone who uses multiple streaming services or has a lot of local music files.
If you want to try out Qobuz Connect, here’s what you need to do:
That’s it. If you’re not a Qobuz user yet, the service offers a free trial and includes a library of curated playlists and hi-res albums across just about every genre.
